Note: There have recently been issues with Royal Mail small parcels on Vinted still requiring printed labels. To avoid this, make sure your parcel size settings are listed as Medium or larger where possible.

Can You Use Vinted Without Printing Labels?

Yes, you absolutely can sell on Vinted without a printer and without the need to print labels at home.

In fact, I’d highly recommend it if you regularly sell low-value items because printing labels can quickly eat into your profits.

I found I was constantly replacing printer ink, especially because the labels always seemed to print extra instructions alongside them, too.

When you’re selling clothes for £2 or £3 at a time, that adds up surprisingly quickly.

My printer also only seemed willing to cooperate about 50% of the time, which created unnecessary stress every time something sold.

Nobody needs the panic of fighting with a printer over a £2 pair of shorts, me included!

Thankfully, there are now several printer-free postage options on Vinted that make the whole process much easier.

The main courier options that usually allow printer-free postage are:

InPost
Yodel
DPD
Evri

Personally, InPost is my favourite because the lockers are incredibly simple to use. You just scan the code, open the locker and leave.

DPD are also increasing the number of lockers available, although I still find there are fewer near me compared to InPost, and I’d need to go to a manned DPD counter in a shop.

You can sometimes drop off Yodel parcels at InPost lockers, depending on what option Vinted gives you, although this isn’t always the case so it shouldn’t be relied on.

Which Postage Options Should You Select on Vinted If You Don’t Have a Printer?

If you want to sell on Vinted without a printer, you need to pick postage methods that use a QR code (digital label) instead of a print-at-home label.

In your Vinted settings, you’ll want to make sure you only enable options that clearly support QR code drop-off or in-shop printing.

InPost (best option for no printer)

Select: InPost Locker / Shop delivery
You receive: QR code only
No printing needed at all
Just scan at the locker and drop your parcel in

Avoid InPost home delivery, as this usually requires a printed label.

Evri (ParcelShop or locker drop-off)

Select: Evri ParcelShop / locker option
You receive: QR code
Staff at the shop will usually print and attach the label for you

This works well for selling on Vinted without a printer, but it’s slightly less seamless than InPost because it depends on the shop setup.

Yodel

Some Yodel options offer QR codes
Others may still require printed labels, depending on the service

This one can be inconsistent, so I tend to avoid it.

DPD

Some drop-off options support QR codes
Others may require printed labels, depending on what the buyer selects

It’s usable, but not always the most reliable option if you want to avoid printers completely.

If you only want to use Vinted without a printer, the safest setup is:

InPost Locker
Evri ParcelShop/locker

These are the most consistently QR-code-friendly options in the UK.

How To Sell On Vinted Without A Printer

Step 1: Change Your Postage Settings

Before listing items, you’ll want to adjust your postage settings in Vinted so buyers can only choose shipping methods that don’t require printed labels.

Go to your profile settings and switch off postage methods you don’t want to use.

I personally stick mainly with:

InPost
Yodel direct scan options
DPD QR code options
Evri

This helps avoid accidentally selling something with a courier that still expects you to print labels at home.

Step 2: Generate Your QR Code

Once your item sells, Vinted will generate a digital postage label for you.

Instead of printing anything, you’ll receive a scannable QR code directly in the app. It’s usually also sent to your email address.

I normally screenshot mine as well, just in case my signal disappears while I’m out posting parcels.

Step 3: Drop Off Your Parcel

Once your parcel is packaged, take it to your chosen drop-off point.

If You’re Using InPost Lockers

Scan your QR code at the locker
Select the correct locker size if needed
A locker door will open automatically
Place your parcel inside and close the door

That’s it done.

If You’re Using A Shop Drop-Off

A staff member will scan the QR code and process the parcel for you.

You’ll then usually receive confirmation both from Vinted and the courier app once the parcel has been accepted.

Why I Prefer InPost For Selling On Vinted

One of the biggest advantages of InPost lockers is that many are available outdoors 24/7.

That means you can post parcels whenever suits you instead of trying to get to a shop before it closes.

Because I have lockers near the end of my road, I usually try to post items shortly after they sell, so I don’t end up with a backlog of parcels building up at home.

Can You Use Royal Mail On Vinted Without A Printer?

Royal Mail is a bit hit and miss on Vinted at the moment if you don’t have a printer, which is why I left it out of the previous section.

In the past, most Royal Mail orders came with a QR code that you could simply take to the Post Office and have printed for you.

Some Royal Mail labels are now showing as print-at-home only.

That means if you don’t have a printer, you may not always be able to use Royal Mail through Vinted, even if it initially looks like an option.

It seems to vary depending on parcel size and delivery type, and Vinted hasn’t really made it clear why some orders generate QR codes, and others don’t.

If you do get a QR code, you can take it to a Post Office branch, and they will print the label for you, so it’s still usable without a printer. But I wouldn’t rely on Royal Mail as your main option if you’re trying to sell on Vinted without a printer.

Because of this, I tend to:

Switch off Royal Mail where possible in my Vinted settings
Stick to courier options that consistently support QR code drop-off, such as Inpost

It’s still a good option in theory, just not the most reliable if you want a completely printer-free option for selling on Vinted.

Can You Use Evri On Vinted Without A Printer?

Evri is one of the most popular options for selling on Vinted without a printer, but it does work slightly differently from InPost.

In most cases at ParcelShops, the staff on duty will scan your QR code and print the label there for you. You then attach it to your parcel (or they do it for you, depending on the shop) and hand it over.

Some Evri lockers also allow you to print the label directly at the machine, although this isn’t available everywhere so it’s worth double-checking beforehand.

Things I’ve found with Evri:

Occasionally, the printer system is busy or slow
A few locations operate more like self-service machines, while others are staff-assisted
Evri drop-off points are often inside Post Offices

So it works well, but it’s worth knowing it isn’t completely uniform everywhere.

My Experience With Yodel

I’ve personally had mixed experiences with Yodel drop-off shops.

Staff can be over strict about parcel sizes – even when the Yodel website says they should accept up to a certain size, I was told the Yodel van driver “hated big parcels” and they couldn’t accept them even though it was much smaller than the maximum size stated online.

Yodel were no help when I questioned this with customer services online, they just told me to try a different location. Surely in the same town, most drop-offs would have the same van driver and therefore the same issue?

Anyway, we got there in the end after a lot of stress.

Other common Yodel issues:

The label printer in the store is broken
They have too many parcels and aren’t accepting any more

At one point, it took me four attempts and three different shops just to send one, not particularly large parcel.

InPost Locker Availability Issues

Occasionally, you might arrive at an InPost locker and discover it’s full, and you’ll be unable to send your parcel.

This used to happen to me quite a lot, but recently, more lockers have opened nearby, so it’s become less of an issue.

You can also usually check locker availability online before leaving home, which saves carrying parcels around unnecessarily.

Why Is Vinted Offering Postage Options I’ve Disabled?

One thing to be aware of with Vinted is that even if you switch off certain postage options in your settings, buyers can sometimes still see and select them.

This isn’t always a glitch; Vinted will sometimes re-enable or prioritise particular delivery methods if there are limited options available for the buyer in their area.

In other words, if there isn’t a suitable alternative courier, Vinted may still show a postage method you’ve turned off to make sure the sale can go through. Annoying, I know.

If this happens and you’re not able to use that service (for example, if it requires a printer and you don’t have one) you can cancel the order, and you shouldn’t get negative feedback.

If you are happy to use that method as a one off, eg. ask someone else to print the label as a favour as you don’t want to lose the sale, it doesn’t mean Vinted has switched it on again.

Because of this, I always double-check the shipping method as soon as an item sells so I can make sure I’m actually able to fulfil it before confirming anything with the buyer.

Personally, I find this a bit bonkers from Vinted.

If a buyer doesn’t have access to certain couriers, it feels like it would make more sense for those options to just not appear, rather than Vinted overruling and using postage methods you’ve switched off.

When it happens, it can leave you in an awkward position as a seller if you can’t fulfil the order, and it’s also disappointing for the buyer when a purchase has to be cancelled.

Packaging Tips For Vinted Sellers

Even without printing labels yourself, you still need to package items properly.

Vinted recommends using at least two layers of packaging where possible.

I also strongly recommend labelling parcels yourself to avoid confusion, especially if you’re sending multiple items at once.

For example, I’ll often write something like:

“Black jeans size 12”
“Nike hoodie”
“Kids shorts”

on the parcel packaging itself.

I also label my QR code screenshots so I don’t accidentally scan the wrong one at the lockers.

It sounds obvious, but when you sell several items at once, it can get confusing very quickly as to what is what.

Things To Be Aware Of When Selling On Vinted Without A Printer

While printer-free postage is much easier overall, there are occasionally issues.

The biggest one seems to be parcels getting mixed up by couriers when labels are added at the depot instead of by the seller.

This can sometimes result in buyers receiving the wrong item entirely.

Usually, Vinted sorts things out eventually, but it can be stressful while you’re waiting, especially if the buyer thinks you’ve sent the wrong item yourself.

Because of this, I always recommend:

Taking photos before sending parcels
Photographing the packaging
Keeping a record of what each parcel looked like

It just gives you some proof if there’s ever a dispute.

Does Turning Off Shipping Options Reduce Sales?

The Vinted app and website does state that offering more postage methods can help increase sales.

However, you absolutely can still sell successfully on Vinted without owning a printer and when offering limited postage options.

I’ve sold loads this way.

Is Selling On Vinted Without A Printer Worth It?

Definitely.

Selling on Vinted is a great way to make extra money, clear clutter and give unwanted clothes a second life.

While there can occasionally be issues with printer-free postage, overall I’ve found it much easier, less stressful and far more convenient than constantly trying to get my somewhat temperamental printer to work.
