Looking for the best time for yellow stickers at M&S? Here’s what I’ve learned from years of bargain hunting in M&S Food Halls.

I love getting yellow sticker foods in M&S. The quality is great, and it always feels extra special getting something a bit luxurious for a bargain price.

In this post, I’m going to take you through some of the best times for grabbing yellow stickers at M&S Food Halls, some of my best-ever bargains, and why November can be a brilliant time to shop for M&S Christmas goodies.

Please note: Reduction timings, stock levels and promotions can vary between stores and may change over time. The information in this article is based on my own experiences shopping at M&S stores and is intended as a guide rather than a guarantee. Always check with your local store for the latest information.

Best Times For Yellow Stickers At M&S

Best time overall: About an hour before closing

In my experience, the last hour before closing can be one of the best times to look for yellow stickers in M&S Food Halls.

I’ve often spotted smaller reductions during the day (around 20-30%) with some of the biggest markdowns appearing later in the evening.

That said, timings can vary between stores, so your local M&S may do things slightly differently.

Most M&S Food Halls close at either 8pm or 9pm, although this does vary by location, so it’s worth checking your local store’s opening hours before making a special trip.

As well as looking at fresh items such as vegetables, deli products, ready meals and meat, don’t forget to check the bakery section too.

I always seem to have some sort of M&S bread lurking in my freezer that was rescued from the yellow sticker shelf!

I find yellow stickers tend to be on the shelves, alongside full priced items. My local M&S doesn’t have a dedicated yellow sticker area like many of the the other supermarkets do.

On-Shelf Reductions

M&S regularly introduces new product lines, especially as the seasons change.

When this happens, you can often spot reductions throughout the store. These aren’t always yellow stickered; instead, you’ll usually find the discount shown on the red shelf-edge label.

I recently picked up a bottle of chocolate caramel sauce for just 25p, and it still had a surprisingly long shelf life left on it.

This is particularly common after Christmas, especially with festive-themed crisps, chocolates and snacks.

Personally, I’m perfectly happy eating turkey crisps well into January if it means getting a bargain.

Christmas Yellow Stickers At M&S

M&S usually launches much of its Christmas food range in early November, around the same time as its Christmas advertising campaign.

While the exact timing can vary from year to year, this is often when you’ll start seeing festive foods appearing in stores.

You’ll find brochures in-store showcasing the festive range and giving you a sneak peek at what’s coming.

Some Christmas items, such as fresh turkeys and other fresh trimmings, only arrive a short time before Christmas itself.

However, many festive party foods, buffet items and seasonal treats start appearing much earlier.

I’ve often found that some of these products end up being reduced during November and early December, simply because people aren’t quite in full Christmas-party mode yet.

Buying M&S Yellow Sticker Christmas Food is a fab way to still grab those luxury items without the high price tag,

Many of these items can be frozen, so if you spot a yellow sticker bargain, it can be worth stocking up and saving it for later in the festive season.

A week or two before Christmas can also be a good time to keep an eye out for the red shelf-label reductions I mentioned earlier. One year, my local M&S reduced lots of fresh pasta and sauces. I suspect they were making room for Christmas stock, but whatever the reason, I wasn’t complaining when I could grab some bargain dinners!

Finally, there are usually plenty of yellow stickers around on Christmas Eve as stores prepare to close for Christmas Day.

Personally, I wouldn’t leave my entire Christmas dinner shopping until then in the hope of grabbing a bargain, but it can be a great time to pick up a few extra treats at reduced prices.

Just be aware that stores can be extremely busy, and not everyone enjoys battling the Christmas Eve crowds, no matter how good the bargains are!

The good news is that many yellow sticker items are freezable, so you don’t necessarily need to eat them straight away.

My Favourite M&S Yellow Sticker Finds

Some of my best M&S yellow sticker bargains have included bakery items, ready meals, fresh party food and seasonal treats.

While the discounts vary, it’s not unusual to find premium products for a fraction of their original price if you’re shopping at the right time.

That’s one of the reasons M&S remains one of my favourite places to hunt for yellow stickers. You can often pick up products that might normally feel like a bit of a luxury and enjoy them for less than you’d pay for everyday items elsewhere.

Have you found any amazing M&S yellow sticker bargains? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
