How to Find Free Postage on Vinted
Many buyers wonder why Vinted sometimes give free postage, and it’s usually because Vinted offers free shipping on a user’s first purchase or on a new seller’s first sale to encourage activity on the platform.
If you’re a first-time buyer on Vinted, your first purchase comes with free postage. Initially, all items will show as free shipping until you make your first purchase, after which standard postage fees apply.
After your first order, there isn’t a way to search specifically for free postage, so finding it is often about spotting items from new sellers.
From my experience shopping on Vinted:

I rarely find free postage when searching for a specific item.

Items are more likely to appear with free postage in your home feed.

Look for listings that say “Postage from £0.00” under the item.
Tip: Free postage items sell quickly, so if you see one, grab it before someone else does!
Keep in mind: free shipping is usually only available via Evri or InPost. If you choose another courier like Yodel, you’ll need to pay.
Finding free postage can significantly reduce the total cost of your order, especially for low-value items, making them much more affordable.
Other Ways to Get Free Postage on Vinted
Even after your first purchase, there are a few ways to reduce or eliminate shipping costs:
1. Bundle Items Together
Buying multiple items from the same seller can save you money on postage. I often check a seller’s other listings, especially for children’s clothes, where many items in the same size are available.
Many sellers also offer discounts for bundles, sometimes up to 50%, which can cover the cost of postage and make the total order more affordable.
2. Ask for a Discount
Vinted has an “offer” button that lets you negotiate with sellers. You can:

Send an offer for a lower price.

Sellers may accept or provide a counteroffer.
Tip: You can make up to 25 offers per day. Consider sending an offer that effectively covers the postage, for example, £3 less than the listed price, to make the item closer to “free postage” in cost.
3. Enable App Notifications
Turn on Vinted app alerts to be notified about new listings, deals, or free shipping promotions.
4. Wait It Out
Favourite items and then see if they eventually get reduced by the seller. Yes, there is a risk they could sell in the meantime, but if it’s not something you desperately need, this could work.
Offers aren’t always accepted on items that haven’t been listed for long, but give it a few weeks and the seller might just be keen to have the item off their hands.
See the example below where an item on my favourite list got reduced by £3.50, which easily covered the cost of shipping.
Be Careful of Scams on Vinted
While finding free postage is great, it’s important to stay safe when buying on Vinted. Some scammers may try to trick buyers with promises of free shipping outside the app or by requesting payments through other methods.
Always complete your purchases through the Vinted app and avoid offers that seem too good to be true. This way, your money is protected, and you reduce the risk of falling for a scam.
