Becoming a parent for the first time can be incredibly expensive, especially if it’s your first baby and you’re starting completely from scratch.
This post looks at all the places where you can find free baby samples and free baby products, perfect for pregnant Mum’s who are looking to save some cash.
Finding free baby samples or baby freebies is a great way to save money – whether you love to stash as many samples as possible in your handbag for emergencies or you are keen to try before you buy, this list should help you find plenty in time for the arrival of your newborn.
We all know how expensive raising children can be – I can clearly remember the first time I took my husband to Mothercare to look at baby products and him being utterly horrified at the cost of prams.
Of course, not everything needs to be brand new – while I was pregnant with my daughter I bought lots of second-hand baby products.
Free Baby Samples and Baby Freebies For Pregnant Mum’s
Something else I did was scout out lots of free baby samples and baby freebies – from free nappies and wipes to washing liquid and Bio-oil samples I managed to get my hands on loads of products before my little girl arrived.
This post contains a list of where to get the best free baby samples and a few other baby freebies too. So before you buy anything, take a look and see what you might be able to find for free.

Here are some of the most popular baby clubs and examples of the free samples they offer to pregnant Mums’.
While these clubs/offers are great there have been a lot of complaints about unsolicited phone calls and emails after signing up, so try using a separate email address and if possible an old phone number or sim card especially to get free baby samples.
1. Join Boots Parenting Club
Sign up for the Boots parenting club via the Boots website for lots of free baby samples and even some gifts.
The most recent example of the gifts I could find included breast pads, pregnancy vitamins and a Mam bottle.

2. Emma’s Diary
Emma’s Diary provides Mum’s to be with three packs of free baby samples and baby freebies, as well as plenty of advice and know-how on their website.
Packs can be picked up from Boots, Argos, Asda and other selected retailers, although do bear in mind stock can be limited so it may take a few attempts to get them.
They contain lots of money-off vouchers which can be useful if you team up with products that are already on offer.
3. Pampers Club
Pampers has an app where you can upload your receipts when you buy any Pampers products.
They send regular money offer vouchers to your email and in the post which when combined with supermarket offers can lead to lots of free and very cheap nappies.
I did have trouble getting one store (Asda) to accept my voucher and it did take some time and two members of staff to sort it out, but I did get them in the end.
4. Bounty
Bounty is another club that offers packs of free baby samples and baby freebies, exclusive offers & personalised emails during your pregnancy.
Download the app to claim the free pack which includes nappies and wipes and collect from your local Tesco, Boots, ASDA or Superdrug store.
5. CheckoutSmart and Shopmium
CheckoutSmart and Shopmium are smartphone apps that can help you save money on your weekly shop by offering free and discounted products.
You simply buy the product, photograph your receipt in the app and upload it to the app. You’ll be reimbursed for the cost/discount on the products.
Both of these apps have regular baby-related freebies, usually jars of baby food, baby snacks and some baby-ready meals perfect for when you’re ready to start weaning at around six months.
I often collected these before having my little girl to donate to my local food bank.

6. Tesco and Asda
Both Tesco and Asda have parenting clubs, but neither offers any free baby samples.
However, they do offer discounts and vouchers so if you’re a regular shopper anyway they may well be worth signing up to.

7. Try Writing to Companies to Ask for Free Baby Samples
If there is a baby product you’d really like to try but haven’t been able to get a sample of, it may well be worth writing to them to ask if they could send you a small sample.
As long as your letter is friendly and polite there is absolutely no harm in asking.
When your baby is born, if there is a product you particularly love (or loathe for that matter!) it can also be worth sending some feedback – companies love to hear what people think and will often reward you with free products or money off vouchers, although of course there is no guarantee.
Where To Find Even More Free Baby Samples
Free baby samples can change all the time and there may also be some that are only available for a short while or are limited in availability.
To find these it may be worth looking at some freebie websites and facebook pages. I’ve listed a few of the best below.
You can also sign up to Amazon Family for exclusive Amazon offers and discounts as well as up to 20% off nappies and baby food.
I’d also recommend Amazon Prime if you don’t already have it – the free next day delivery is perfect for when you desperately need something but can’t get out of the house and prime video is ideal viewing for those long nights when baby won’t settle.
Try Facebook
Facebook can be an excellent place to both make and save money.
While it’s not the best place for finding free baby samples, you may be able to find lots of full-size items for free as often people want to get rid of them to free up some space.
While I was pregnant I got Mama’s and Papa’s baby bath for free from a couple just up the road from me and will pass it on for free again when I’m done with it.
There are also local Baby Bank groups which offer free items to those in need.
Can You Get Free Baby Stuff From The Government?
While not available in England or Wales, if you live in Scotland you can claim a free baby box which contains items such as baby clothing, a thermometer, a baby towel and books.
The box also comes with a mattress so it can double up a safe sleep space for a newborn.

Extra Ways to Save On Baby Stuff
While these don’t include getting free baby samples, they do involve getting free cash so I thought they were worth including in this list.
Free Cash When You Buy Baby Products
If you’re starting from scratch or have a lot of baby products that you’re buying new then it’s worth signing up to a cashback site such as www.topcashback.com
Simply find the retailer you wish to shop with, click through to their website and shop as normal. Cashback is on top of sale prices.
This week I bought a new pushchair which already had £50 off, I then earned a further £3.50 cashback on top.
While not a huge amount it can certainly add up if you have a lot to buy – to me that £3.50 will buy a pack of nappies.
