July Preloved Clothing Bargains – Vinted & Charity Shops
This post may contain Affiliate Links
After some major sort-out in recent weeks, I’ve been on the lookout for some new to us clothes for both myself and my daughter. Here are my recent Vinted and Charity shop bargains.
I love shopping for second-hand clothes. It’s a great way to save money and it’s a more sustainable way to shop. I also like the fact I’m either supporting a charity or buying from a family who can then spend the money on things they need for their kids.
I’ve had some fantastic bargains this month so I wanted to share them in the hope it inspires you to try your hand at shopping pre-loved too.
While you won’t be able to find the exact same things as me, I’ll share some of my second-hand shopping tips at the end of the post.
First up, here are some of the things I bought for my daughter.
These were from bundles that I made on Vinted. Whenever I find a suitable item on Vinted I then take a look at everything else that person is selling as often there will be items in the same size. This helps save on postage and some sellers have a bundle discount for buying two or more items from them.
Bundle one cost £10.51 including postage and Vinted fees and the second cost £6.71 including postage and fees, working out at £1.15 per item. I didn’t ask for a discount as I thought the items were already very cheap.

Bundle one:
5 x Leggings and 3 x Joggers £2.50
1 x Christmas Jumper £1
1 x Jumper £1
1 x Dungaree Dress £1.00
1 x Tinkerbell Costume £1.00
Bundle Two:
1 x Glittery Wellies £1.00
1 x Dino Wellies £1
1 x Joggers (not pictured)

This means A is almost entirely set for winter. The extra pair of wellies are for her to take to forest school and one pair of joggers will be for P.E. I already have a few jumpers and long sleeve tops put back for winter and the Christmas jumper was a nice bonus.
Next up are some of the clothes I bought for myself.
I fell in love with this shirt dress from Zara as soon as I saw it, it just feel very me (and yes I know it needs an Iron!) Sadly it is a little on the small side so I might have to sell it.
I’m always on the lookout for nice tops to wear to a quiz night or drinks with friends but have a habit of buying ones with lots of details that then feel as though they clash with everything. This top was brand new with tags.
I’ve binned lots of vest tops recently because they are so worn, holey and with no stretch left in them. It’s great I’m wearing clothes for as long as I possibly can but there does come a time they need to be replaced. This was a lovely soft and stretchy cotton vest top from Next.
Finally, I’ve been on the lookout for another chenille jumper for a while as I have two that I wear lots of the winter and one of them is looking decidedly worse for wear.
So. . . would you like to guess the total cost for these four items? Scroll down to see!

These four items cost a grand total of £4! We went to a charity shop where everything was £1 and after a good browse, these were my favourite items. I’m trying really hard to only buy clothes I love that I know will get worn rather than just buying loads because it cheap, and I think I achieved that here.
Next up is my new to me Havaianas. I’m not usually a brand snob, but during the summer I live in flip-flops and these last so well and are super comfy. I last bought a new pair in 2019 after mine broke walking home from a friend’s house (I rung her and she came and saved me with a spare pair of her own shoes!)
That pair lasted until a couple of weeks ago when they broke while I was playing at a park with my daughter. They were fixable to get me home, but I knew that was it.
A pair of Havaianas usually cost around £27 new. I’ve found some on eBay for around £20 but I really wanted to buy pre-loved but in great condition, if I could.

After a couple of weeks of searching, I found a pair on Vinted that fitted the bill. I’d specifically been searching for a slim grey pair as I knew they’d go with everything.
This pair of Havaianas cost £10 with free delivery and I just had to pay an extra £1.20 in vinted fees. Less than half of buying brand new and I’m really hoping they last me another three years!
Finally, I bought myself a light summer raincoat which was £6.72 from Vinted including postage and fees. I’ve been caught in the rain several times recently so I wanted something really light just throw in my backpack when I’m out and about.

Want to get started with shopping second-hand? Here are my top tips.
Top Tips For Shopping Second Hand
Shop Often – When it comes to buying second-hand clothing, it can take a bit of a mindset shift, especially when you’re used to going to a shop and knowing they’ll have the clothes you want in the right size and colour.
It can take a little while to find what you’re looking for when it comes to shopping pre-loved, I tend to have a scroll of my saved items on Vinted each evening until I find what I want. While it can take more time, you’ll definitely save money and you’ll be shopping more sustainably too.

Buying Second Hand Children’s Clothes
Make A Wish List – Making a second-hand wish list can help you resist bargains that you don’t really need and ensure you buy clothes that go with everything else you own.
Head To A More Affluent Area – If you’re looking for branded and designer clothing then heading to a more affluent area’s charity shops could be the answer. Be prepared to pay more, but remember you’ll be buying better quality that should then last longer.
Create Your Own Bundles On Vinted – This is one of the biggest ways I save when shopping on Vinted. Whenever I like something, I take a look at the seller’s other items and create my own bundles. This saves on postage and some sellers offer a bundle discount as well.

This post prompted me to give Vinted a try and I’m so glad I did! I love Schuh shoes as always find them very comfortable, regardless of heel size! I’ve been after some black high heels that don’t show toes for a while. Unfortunately these seem to be out of fashion at the moment, nothing on their main website but a quick search on Vinted and I had brought two pairs of Schuh black high heels, new without boxes both a fiver each! Bargain!
Also found some very cheap dresses for work including a French Connection dress for £6!
