Gift Ideas For Teen Girls

Teen girls can be tricky to buy for. Their interests are wide-ranging and can change almost overnight, which makes finding the right gift a challenge, especially if you don’t know them particularly well.

To help take the guesswork out of it, I’ve put together a list of gift ideas that should spark some inspiration if you’re struggling to decide what to buy for the teenager in your life.

For this list, I’ve stuck with budget and mid-range-priced gifts – while I am sure things like iPads and iPhones are very popular with teenage girls, they aren’t something I wanted to focus on for this gift guide.

1. Jewellery

If you’re looking to purchase teenage girl jewellery there are a few things that you’ll want to keep in mind.

Jewellery does make a perfect gift for teen girls, but it’s worth considering current trends to ensure you get the right piece.

Many teens love to wear simple everyday pieces (such as the silver heart bracelet pictured above) – think delicate chains, minimalist stud earrings and plain rings that can be stacked to work with any outfit.

Charm bracelets remain popular with teenage girls as they can easily be changed and updated to reflect current interests. Young teens might prefer more colourful or whimsical charms, such as hearts or butterflies where whereas older girls may prefer something more meaningful, such as initial letters.

Overall, a mix of everyday basics as well as some statement pieces that reflect their personality is sure to go down well.

2. Jellycats

Jellycat plushies make lovely gifts because they’re charming, well-made, and suitable for teens who appreciate something cute and comforting.

While the price tag can be quite a bit higher than other gifts, teens often value having something that feels a little bit exclusive or luxurious.

If you’re struggling to find a particular Jellycat that’s sold out or discontinued, resale platforms like Vinted can be a great place to look.

Many people sell brand-new or barely used Jellycat’s at reasonable prices.

That said, it’s important to shop carefully, always check seller reviews, ask for clear photos of labels and tags, and be wary of prices that seem too good to be true.

In particular, there has been an increase in fake Jellycats being sold via TikTok and other social platforms, so sticking to trusted resale sites and doing a little research can help ensure you’re buying the real thing.

3. Gift Vouchers

While gift cards can sometimes feel a little impersonal, they are a safe bet when you’re unsure of the recipient’s size or current interests.

Having their own money to spend (in the form of vouchers) when out and about can help teens feel more grown up and I think encourages some independence too.

Here are some voucher ideas that would be popular with teenage girls:

Food & Drink

  • Greggs
  • Nandos
  • Costa
  • Starbucks
  • Subway

Clothing & Acessories

  • River Island
  • Primark
  • Urban Outfitters
  • H&M
  • Hollister
  • ASOS (online)
  • PrettyLittleThing (online)
  • Zara
  • Charity Shop Gift Card (while I appreciate not all teen girls will be into shopping second-hand, the Charity Shop Gift Card is perfect for those who do love thrifted clothing or are passionate about environmentalism)

Days Out & Experiences

  • Cinema Voucher (Odeon, Cineworld, Vue)
  • Escape Room
  • Animal Experience
  • Ice Skating

As always with vouchers, it’s worth mentioning that many do have an expiry date, usually 24 months although this can sometimes be less.

4. Fun Notebooks & Pens

Kids, adults, teen girls – who doesn’t love a cute pen and notebook combo?

Notebooks make a practical yet thoughtful gift, whether they’re being used for school, college, or even university, and there’s a huge range of styles available to suit every budget.

Younger teens and tweens may love notebooks featuring their favourite characters, bright colours, or fun illustrations, while older teens and those heading off to university often prefer something more sleek, minimalist, or even personalised with a monogram.

Kawaii (cute) culture, with its pastel colours, adorable characters, and playful design,s is hugely appealing too.

5. Reusable Water Bottle

Reusable water bottles are a brilliant gift idea because they’re both practical and eco-friendly. Most teens carry a bottle to school, college, the gym, or when they’re out and about, so it’s something they’ll genuinely get use out of rather than tuck away in a drawer.

High End: Stanley Cup – £30

Mid-Range: Personalised Water Bottle from Etsy – £12

Budget Friendly: B&M – £3+ depdning on size and style

6. International Food Hamper

Many teens are interested in cultures from around the world, and there’s something fun and exciting about trying snacks from another country.

After all, even as an adult, I still get excited about discovering new crisp flavours when travelling abroad!

International snack hampers are easy to buy online and make great gifts for teenage girls (and teenage boys, for that matter!) They’re fun, shareable, and a little different from the usual presents.

Japanese culture is particularly popular with teen girls right now – popular snacks such as ramen and mochi are sure to be a big hit!

American food is another favourite, especially snack flavours we don’t get here and classic American candy, which always feels like a novelty.

7. Small Gift Ideas

Finally, I wanted to give some smaller gift ideas – these would make perfect stocking fillers or ideas for when you feel like you need one or two little extras.

For Younger Teens

  • New headphones
  • Spare charger for devices
  • Age-appropriate fun face masks
  • Lush Bath Bomb

For Older Teens

  • YSL lip oil
  • Chanel Compact Mirror
  • Magnetic power bank
  • Bracelet Charm

I really hope this gift guide gives you some inspiration for shopping for the teenagers in your life, whether it’s for Christmas, Their Birthday, or any other occasion.
