Charity Shop Finds – Febuary 2020

This month I’ve bought a fair few items from the local charity shops. I’m continuing with my mission to only buy second-hand clothing this year and have had some fantastic finds so far.
I’ve bought a fair few jumpers this month as I had gotten rid of several that really needed replacing. I also picked up a couple of books for my daughter.

First up, this lovely jumper. It cost £4.50 from my local scope charity shop and is originally from Laura Ashely. This is exactly the sort of thing I wear and I like that it’s comfy but not too casual. The condition is brilliant, I actually don’t think it’s been worn, despite not having tags. It also has lovely detail on the back which you can see below.
Next up is this lovely purple top and blue jeans I bought from The Children’s Society, costing £2.99 each. The jeans were in fantastic condition and would have cost around £20 to buy new. The top is lovely and floaty and exactly the sort of thing I’ve been looking for to wear on nights out.
See me pictured below rocking my charity shop outfit at my monthly quiz night! We actually won the quiz that night so I’ve decided my new outfit is lucky.
The brown Boots I’m wearing in the picture were purchased from a charity shop before Christmas for £4.99. So my whole outfit cost just under £11.
Another of this month’s purchases was this lovely striped jumper – it’s nice and light and will be perfect for when the weather starts to warm up. It came from my local Scope and cost just £3.
This month I also picked up a couple of books for my daughter. These two were buy one get one free so worked out at 50p each and both were in perfect condition.
I love reading with her especially books which I enjoyed in my childhood.
The first book I bought for her was the LetterLand book, a proper throwback to when I was a child!
When I posted a picture of this on my Instagram loads of people got in touch to say the LOVED this book when they were younger and that it helped them learn to read. Although Aubrey is a little bit young for it yet, I know we’ll get loads of use out of it when she gets older and is learning her letters.
You can also tell this is a retro version of the Letterland book as it still has some of the original characters, which have since been updated, such as the robber and the kissing cousins.
I also picked up the board book version of the Children’s Book ‘Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy’ by Lynley Dodd. My little girl has been loving this one an we’ve end up reading it a fair few times each day.
Finally, although this wasn’t something I purchased myself, Aubrey’s Granny picked her up a second-hand Pando toy. She absolutely loves Bing and while it’s a very popular programme, I’ve not had much luck finding pre-loved Bing toys, so we were over the moon with this little chap. He came from a second-hand children’s toy and clothes shop and cost £3.
