FREE Things To Do In Las Vegas For Couples

Las Vegas – a trip to sin city can be expensive or as thrifty as you want to make it. With literally hundreds of different things to see and do and plenty of them for free. You could easily spend very little and still have a completely awesome time. These were my favourite free activities we did as a couple on our honeymoon trip to Las Vegas.

Walking the Strip, Arm in Arm
Okay, so a pretty obvious one – why wouldn’t you walk the strip when in Vegas? But, it’s actually pretty easy to get distracted, dipping in and out of hotels, shops, and so on. The key to keeping to a budget is it to avoid all of those – at least for the first few hours anyway. Walking from one end of the stip to the other in one go really gives you a sense of its enormity and you can soak up the amazing atmosphere. If you get tired there are plenty of places along the way to sit and relax – we particularly loved the Linq Promenade for this!
Forum Shops at Cesar’s Palace
If you can avoid the temptation of the super expensive shops – I’ll admit these were way out of our budget anyway! – the forum shops is a lovely place to have a romantic wander round and was one of our favourite things to in Las Vegas for couples. We loved the Italian theming and the water fountains make a great backdrop for some cheesy Vegas selfies. 
The Bellagio (not just for the fountains)
The Fountains outside the Bellagio Hotel have got to be one of the most famous Las Vegas attractions and are well worth a visit. However, the Bellagio Hotel itself is well worth a visit. The lobby ceiling is covered with hundreds of beautiful glass flowers. Towards the back of the lobby are the Bellagio’s botanical gardens. These are well worth a visit and entry is free. The gardens change with the seasons so will have different themes at different times of the year. Head upstairs to the Jean-Phillipe Patisserie for another of the Bellagio’s free attractions – the worlds largest chocolate fountain. If you’re a chocolate lover then it’s definitely worth a look!
Hershey’s & M&Ms Shops
Another one for the chocolate lovers – these two shops can be found toward the South end of the Strip. The Hershey’s shop is actually inside the New York, New York hotel (this was probably my favourite hotel visually on the whole of the strip!) When we visited they were giving out free chocolate samples so worth a look for a freebie or two.
The M&Ms shop is further along the strip and on the other side of the road. With more M&Ms merchandise than you can shake a stick at, you could easily spend some gawking at the sheer volume of things that can be branded by M&Ms. Free activities include having photographs taken with the Red M&M as he does plenty meet and greets during the day. There is a short movie to watch (aimed at kids, but I’m not judging!) and an actual real life Racing Car on display. They also have the worlds largest wall of M&M’s.
Visit as Many hotels as possible
One thing we loved to do in Las Vegas was spending time wandering around all the different hotels. If you can resist the lure of the casinos, there is still more than enough to see and do – especially for a small town couple like us who aren’t used to big cities at all! The theming is incredible and varies so much, it’s like taking your own mini-tour around the world. In particular we for awesome theming we loved The Luxor (Egypt), New York, New York, Paris (complete with mini Eiffel Tower) and Ceasers Palace.
Visit Downtown
Downtown Las Vegas/Freemont Street is worthing paying to get to as there is so much to do for couples once you get there (walking there is not advised) Visit the Golden Nugget, Las Vegas’s oldest casino and which offers slots from as little as 5c. You could have your photo taken with a million dollars at Binion’s or soak up the atmosphere under the worlds biggest digital screen. Most evenings there is free live music and entertainment – perfect for enjoying Las Vegas as a couple. People watching comes into its own here with people whizzing overhead on the Slotzilla Zipline.
Free Poker Lessons
Many of the Casinos in Las Vegas run relaxed, informal lessons in the mornings completely free – so you can brush up on your poker skills before trying it out for real later on in the day. More info can be found here.
Other FREE Things To Do In Las Vegas For Couples
- The Mirage hotel has a volcano themed show each night and isn’t much farther along the Las Vegas Strip than the Bellagio fountain show, meaning you could easily see both in one night if you wanted to.
- The Flamingo Hotel has a small wildlife habitat which is free to enter and has various animals including Flamingos and Koi Carp.
- The Cosmopolitan Hotel is home to one of the worlds largest chandeliers – it’s insanely big and worth a look.
