4 Wedding Freebies Inc. Free Disney Postcard

It can be hard to appreciate just how expensive weddings are until you are actually planning one. Add the word wedding to pretty much anything and the price can easily double.
In some cases this is justified, as the work and skill that goes into creating something perfect for your big day are undeniable, however, sometimes in the wedding planning process when the costs are really mounting up it can be hard to visualize where all of that money is actually going.
That said, not everything needs to cost a fortune – here are my favourite wedding freebies.

Here are some of my favourite wedding freebies.
FREE Wedding Show Tickets
Some of the big wedding shows in London and other cities can cost as much as £16 a ticket. I went to a much smaller local wedding fayre that was free entry if you pre-registered online.
Okay, so it probably wasn’t as fancy as some of the bigger shows, but I was able to take my Mum and a Bridesmaid with me for free too.
We were greeted with cocktails on arrival and spent a lovely few hours wandering around sampling cakes, chocolates and ice cream.
There was also a small fashion show and a free-to-enter raffle to win wedding transportation. Definitely look around for smaller local shows before spending money on tickets to any big ones. This was a fab wedding freebie that also doubled up as a lovely day out.
FREE Wedding Goody Bag
I was also given a free goody bag at the show mentioned above. I didn’t really get a chance to look through it until I got home but actually had quite a lot of awesome stuff in it.
It had five or six wedding magazines, most of which retail at between £3-£5. I think a lot of newly engaged ladies are tempted to rush out and buy a load of wedding magazines as soon as they start planning.
I would definitely suggest waiting to see if you can get some for free. The bag also contained chocolates, sweets, bubbles and organza bags.

FREE Copy of Rock ‘n’ Roll Bride magazine
In the lead-up to my wedding the Rock ‘n’ Roll Bride Facebook group was an absolute godsend. While my wedding wasn’t particularly alternative it was nice to discuss a few of my more wacky ideas with such a nice bunch of opened minded ladies.
Kat Williams who runs the group also owns Rock ‘n’ Roll bride magazine, which is full of funky, real life weddings.
On occasion they will give away surplus copies of the previous issue when a new one is released, so you will only need to pay postage. This is totally, totally worth it for such an awesome magazine. Check out the Rock ‘n’ Roll bride Facebook page here.
FREE* Post Card from Mickey & Minnie Mouse
As a massive Disney fan, this was probably my favourite Wedding Freebie.
You may have seen the details for this circulating online recently and wondered whether it actually works. Well it does! I did this about a month before my wedding. While it didn’t arrive in time for my big day, it was a nice surprise a few weeks later.
If you are planning to do this for yourself or a friend allow plenty of time! *You do have to pay the postage to send the invite to Disney which was around 80p
Just send a wedding invite to:
Mickey and Minnie Mouse
The Walt Disney Company
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
Or

Other Ways To Get Wedding Freebies
I was actually lucky enough to be given a load of hen party stuff by another bride who got married before me.
I knew her through work and she brought me badges, blow-up dolls, headbands etc. While it wasn’t all necessarily my cup of tea, I did really appreciate the gesture.
A simple post on Facebook asking if anyone has anything they want to get rid of may yield surprising results.
As DIY weddings are all the rage people are often sick of the sight of wedding paraphernalia by the time their big day comes around and would love it to have it off their hands.

Did you score any amazing wedding freebies? I’d love to hear about it!

I did a lot of DIY when it came to my wedding so can see this would be very useful to brides on a budget.
My wedding was ridiculously cheap, but I’m not a traditionalist at all. It would have cost less if I’d had it all my own way! But DIY is a fantastic way of saving some money on a wedding – that, and not saying the word “wedding” out loud when you’re shopping around!
So true! That said we kinda wish we’d spent more on our wedding, we took on wayyy too much DIY and ended up very stressed!
Oh my goodness that card from Mickey and Minnie is amazing!
It is very cute!
