Love Domino’s Pizza but not the prices? Try these tips and hacks to get it for less, including Domino’s NHS discount and how to the popular Pepperoni Passion for less
I bloody love Domino’s Pizza and it’s our takeaway of choice for a monthly movie night at one of my friends houses. However it doesn’t come cheap. Especially when it’s not a Tuesday.
Once, many years ago, before I had honed my money-saving ways my now husband rang up and ordered a Domino’s for us. A large pizza for him and a medium for me. It came to £32! He’d forgotten to ask if there were any offers that could be applied and we didn’t have a menu to hand so he’d literally just ordered what we’d usually have. I vowed never ever to spend that much on two takeaway pizzas again!
There are always offers on Domino’s so there is no need to ever pay full price. From getting a pizza for £1 to why you should never order a pepperoni passion, here are my tips for getting the best deals.
Order online or on app
Domino’s Pizza usually have loads of offers on and sometimes it can be tricky to pinpoint which one will save you the most money. I usually order online as this gives me the chance to have a play around with the offers and see which deal is going to save me the most money. It also gives me the opportunity to order via a cashback site such as Top Cashback or Quidco and earn a little bit of cashback too.
O2 Priority moments app
If you have the Priority moments app, Domino’s Pizza are part of the £1 Monday Lunch Deal. You can get a personal Pizza with one topping for £1, collection only. Just show the O2 priority code in-store. According to the Domino’s website this offer is only running until March 2017.
Domino’s NHS discount / Armed forces discount
Domino’s NHS discount /Armed Forces discount should be available at most stores but as individual stores are franchised this can vary up and down the country. The most up to date information I could find online suggested it could be anywhere between 20% and 50% off Pizzas. Worth checking with your local store if you work for the NHS or Armed Forces
***ID may be required upon collection or delivery.
Never order a Pepperoni Passion
Pepperoni Passion is, without a doubt, one of the most popular Domino’s Pizza offerings. However, it is also one of the most expensive. Order a Cheese & Tomato with double pepperoni instead. For a medium Pizza it works out £2 cheaper. I’ve been doing this for ages now and neither my husband nor any of my friends have noticed the difference
50% off is better than Buy One Get One Free
When faced with lots of different offers it can be tricky to figure out which is the best deal. Although 50% off and BOGOF sound like they are the same, 50% off is usually better. Especially if you are buying pizzas of varying prices and sizes. This is because when buying Buy One Get One Free you always pay for the more expensive pizza.
1x Medium Pepperoni Passion £16.50
1X Medium Cheese & Tomato £11.99
Buy one get one free would cost £16.50
50% off would cost £14.25
You could then save a further £1.00 by Ordering cheese and Tomato with double pepperoni instead of Pepperoni Passion.
Total Saving – £3.25
Ok, so I know £3.25 isn’t a huge saving but if you have Domino’s once a month that’s almost £40 over a year saved.
Collect if you can
If you live near Domino’s and can be bothered t
o walk there you could well save some cash. Collection offers are often better than delivery. My local Domino’s often has Buy One Get One Free on Collection only, which I am happy to do if represents a substantial saving compared to other offers.
Freeze Your Leftovers
It really easy to over-order Dominos’s, especially if you’re on your own and it’s a Tuesday. Now I know a lot of people will have leftovers for breakfast the next day and that’s fine. But personally I can’t stomach it! I prefer to freeze the leftovers and have a quick and easy tea ready for another night.
Opt in to marketing texts
I have done this and usually get about one text a week with an offer exclusive to my local store. It’s usually a code for 20% – 50% off or a conditional spend voucher.
Try the new Italian Garlic Bread
There is currently* an offer to get the new Italian Garlic bread for £1.99. We had this New Years Day and not only was it huge it was also some of the tastiest Garlic bread I have ever eaten! If you’re trying to feed a lot of people it would make a great top-up item to help bulk out the more expensive Pizzas.
