Sprucing up your home can often seem like a daunting and expensive task.

But it doesn’t have to be!

I’ve teamed up with MYPICTURE.co.uk to take a look at some of the ways you can give your home a refresh without spending a fortune.

When it comes to home decorating, you don’t always have to go all out to make a big difference.

Repainting (or even scarier, wallpapering!) a room can take a lot of time, and effort and of course, there is the expense too.

Small changes such as adding some new wall art or family photographs, buying new throws and touching up any grubby paintwork mean you see a big improvement for little cost.

Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are a great way to make a bold statement in any room.

You could opt for one large canvas (perfect for covering a big blank space on a budget) or you could opt for several smaller canvas prints to display together.

I find when doing this similarly themed images, for example, wedding photos, or on holiday, work best.

There is even the option to add text to your image so that you can finish it off with a favourite quote or song lyric.

Finally, if you want a large canvas but can’t decide on just one picture, you can use a collage to display several different images on the same piece.

Create A Budget Gallery Wall

One of the best things about a gallery wall is that you can use a range of different shapes, and sizes for your images and they still look great together.

While you could choose to theme your images (like in the picture above), you could also pick pictures simply because you love them – it’s entirely up to you!

The reason a gallery wall is a great option for those on a budget is that it doesn’t have to match unless you want it to.

You could use photo frames you already own mixed in with new purchases, upcycle old picture frames by repainting them or search for second-hand frames in your local charity shops to help keep costs down.

If you’re worried about getting the spacing right for your gallery wall, there are many free templates online which show how to group your frames.

My favourite areas in the home for a gallery wall are going up the stairs, in the hallway or behind the sofa in the main living area.

Something Different: Personalised Star Map

Okay, so you’ve chosen all of your favourite family photos but still have space on your walls.

Why not opt for a personalised star map?

A map of the night sky at a place and time that is special to you.

You could choose your wedding, the day you met your partner or your children’s birthdays.

While this isn’t the cheapest option on this list, I do have a discount code to help reduce the price.

Super Budget Friendly Option – Order A Photo Poster

If you’ve got a large space to fill and a super-tight budget, then a photo poster could be a great option as these start from just £3 but are still a quality product that comes in a range of sizes.

While a poster doesn’t offer the most chic look, you could buy it now and then frame it at a later date when your budget allows.

Another way to use a photo poster could be to cover any marks or uneven patches on a wall if you don’t want to repaint or are unable to find a match for the colour that you already have.
