How To Find Cheap Family Christmas Pyjamas

Do you dress up in matching family PJs at Christmas? It’s a tradition many families have started in recent years, however buying new can be costly at an already expensive time of year.
In this post, I will discuss how to find cheap family Christmas Pyjamas even on a very tight budget.
Before we get started, it’s worth remembering that no one needs matching pyjamas and while it’s a lovely thing to do, there are lots of other lovely free Christmas traditions too.
What To Do When You Have No Money For Christmas
You’ll also save a lot more cash if you don’t mind your matching family Christmas pyjamas being the same several years in a row.
1. Shop Second Hand
When saving money on Christmas Pyjamas, one of the easiest ways to save is to buy them second-hand.
Families often sell bundles of matching Christmas Pyjamas, which may have only been worn once for a photograph which their children have now outgrown.
The tricky part is finding a bundle with the right sizes for your family! Saving your searches and checking sites regularly for new uploads can help with this.
You could also try splitting up the sizes you need, for example buying a bundle for the kids and then a separate pair of the same matching PJs for Mum & Dad.
As many people purchase matching family Pyjamas from the same places, eg. Primark, F&F, you can often find the same design in different sizes from several different sellers.
This is actually what I ended up doing for my family this year – I bought a bundle of matching pyjamas for my two children and then ordered the matching ‘Mum’ set from a different seller.
The total was less than £10 for all three pairs on Vinted.
I sized up for my toddler who will get two years of use out of them and next year I’ll just need to find a matching pair in the next size up for my daughter, so just one pair to buy instead of three plus making sure they all get plenty of wear.

2. Buy Out Of Season
While this doesn’t help for this year, buying out of season can mean huge savings.
Christmas shopping might be the last thing on your mind at the start of the New Year, but often places like B&M and Home Bargains reduce leftover stock – sometimes down to as little 10p or 20p per item.
Below were Christmas Pyjamas reduced to just £2.50 on Boxing day. Just make sure you don’t grab any with the year on!
3. Buy A Size Up For The Kids
It doesn’t matter if pyjamas are a little on the bigger side, so you could always size up to help the pyjamas last for more than Christmas.
Another option could be to buy two or three years’ worth of children’s pyjamas and keep the adult ones so not everyone’s needs replacing each year.
4. Buy Early
Again, you might not feel like shopping for Christmas Pyjamas in August, but many large retailers sell off last year’s Christmas stock in August and you might just be able to grab yourself a bargain.
5. Keep & Reuse
For my daughter’s first Christmas, I managed to pick up a cute elf onesie for just £1.50 from a charity shop.
I kept it and luckily it fit my son for his first Christmas too, five years later!
Keeping Christmas PJs means you can pass them down through your children and possibly source a second-hand matching pair for the oldest.
6. Opt For Pyjama Bottoms Only
You could opt for matching pyjama bottoms only like in the picture at the top of this post as this would significantly reduce your overall spend.
Finally, ensure you get as much use as you can out of your Christmas Pyjamas. I always encourage Christmas Pyjamas from the first of December as this means they get much more use than if they’re given on Christmas Eve.
We also try to take some nice family pictures to include in photo gifts which is another great reason to start wearing them early.
