Welcome to my update for May and June . . .
Those of you who regularly read my blog will know that since the start of the year I’ve been doing a round up at the end of each month, usually covering any bargains I’ve found, how couponing and comping have been going and bit of a general life update. Little things that aren’t worth writing a whole post about but are still worth mentioning.
I ended up not writing a round-up post for May. By the end of the month I was around 10 days overdue with my baby girl and just didn’t feel motivated to write anything. The last month of my pregnancy brought a fair few complications (luckily more for my health than the babies) but this meant lots more appointments and with the heat I felt permanently exhausted. So, I spent most of the month getting plenty of rest but not really doing much bargain or coupon wise.
My bump decided she didn’t want to be May baby and actually ended up arriving in June. As she was running so late and there was no sign of labour starting naturally, I ended up being induced when I was 12 days overdue. This is not an experience I would wish to repeat and even after almost 30 hours of labour I was still not dilated enough to start pushing. At this point it was decided an emergency C- Section would be for the best as babies head was starting to swell and her heart rate kept dropping whenever I moved onto my side.
I also experienced a whole host of other complications during labour which I won’t go into detail about here. That said, all the staff and midwives at the hospital were fantastic and Aubrey Elizabeth Sylvia Hawkes arrived safely at 8.06am on the 4th of June weighing 8lb 9oz.
Obviously we think she is perfect and are completely in love!
With my comping efforts I was lucky enough to win a free newborn photo-shoot and printed image at a local photographers. We then chose to buy some of the digital images from our shoot too which I’ve included below.
So the last four weeks have passed in a blur of sleepless nights and dirty nappies and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you to everyone that has messaged asking about her and sent good wishes,we really appreciate it!
Last weekend we took our baby girl on her first bargain hunting trip. We quite often head to Clarks Village but this time as I was writing a post about it we were on a mission to find some serious bargains and we weren’t disappointed. There were beautiful dresses down from £119 to £15 in Coast and rails upon rails of half price dresses in Next Clearance.
And that’s it for this month! Despite being very tired, I actually feel much better in myself now I’m no longer pregnant so hoping next months round up will be filled with bargains and coupon hauls.
