Can you believe it’s now April? The year seems to be flying by! Here’s what happened with me in March . . .
March has actually been quite a good month. Blogging wise I’ve had loads of work on which has been lovely and reassuring that I can make a career out of blogging and working from home. However, I do feel I’ve been over doing a bit recently and spent most of Easter Weekend feeling really rough (which is why this post is a few days late going up!)
A combination of having a cold, pregnancy hormones and really struggling to sleep had left me feeling really worse for wear and I think I need to remember that rest is important, especially if I’ve been out about doing things!
I think the biggest unexpected thing about March was the masses of snow we had at the beginning of the month! I live in one of the areas that was worst hit and we didn’t leave the house for two days other for a very short snowy walk. This also meant my husband was home from work for a couple of extra days which was lovely.
I’ve still been on the look out for a few more bits we need for the baby (I can’t quite believe she’s due next month!) and found this Baby Einstein Activity Center for £15 in a Charity Shop. It currently retails for £79.99 on Amazon so was a huge bargain that I’ll hopefully get plenty of use out of.I also picked up this Peter Rabbit DVD boxset from Asda. The new film doesn’t really appeal me to me and I loved these cartoon versions when I was a child. They are so gentle and calm to watch I thought they’d be perfect for snuggling up with once our baby girl is here.
Car Insurance Renewal
Although our car insurance wasn’t actually due until the end of the April, I decided to get organzied and start looking for a quote now. A combination of comparison sites, going direct to the insurer and cashback meant this years was our cheapest ever £210 PLUS £50 cashback when it eventually comes through making it just £160 for the year for two of us. This is the lowest it has ever been and is far cry from the £3.5k a year my husband was spending when he first got a car!
More Free Easter Eggs
Yes, that’s right, we managed even more free Easter Eggs in the run up to Easter! This year in total we’ve had 8 eggs between us plus a free box of 5 Cadbury’s Creme eggs. This time it was Thorton’s Easter eggs we claimed using the O2 Priority moments app. which we both have so we were both able to claim.
March has also been much better for couponing and my stockpile for when I’m on maternity leave is coming along nicely.
