Want to save money? You’ve come to the right place – Welcome to Savvy In Somerset
Savvy In Somerset is full of money saving ideas, budgeting tips and thrifty days out all from the heart of the beautiful Westcountry.
Whatever your goals I would love to help you get started – whether it’s spending less on your groceries (I currently spend just £50 a month – you can read about it here) or still affording luxuries while trying to save I hope you can find tips to help you and your family.
My name is Fiona Hawkes, I am based in Somerset, England and I love saving money.
I also love spending money …. Eating out, takeaways, nights out with my friends and shopping.
Through my blog I aim to show how you can save a little extra money each month but still be able to spend on the things you enjoy. Cutting down without missing out.
My journey into the world of extreme money saving started when my partner and I decided to buy our first house together. We decided to aim for around a 35% deposit despite being on relatively low incomes. It took five years, but we did it. Now we have a very manageable mortgage – one that we hope to pay off in the next ten years.
So I shall continue with my money-saving ways in the hope of achieving our dream of being mortgage free – and I really hope you will join me. As well as money saving I also foray into the world of making extra money too – simple ideas that you can try too – such as these four easy ways to make money on Facebook.
