I love Harry Potter and all things associated with the Wizarding World. Here is my Harry Potter Gift Guide aimed at the grown up Potterhead in your life…
And theres’s the chance to win some Harry Potter Goodies too! Check out the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post for how to enter!
It may be over 20 years since the first Harry Potter book was released but if, like me, you grew up reading the books and watching (read going to midnight showings dressed up) the movies it will still hold a place in your heart. I’ve put this gift guide together with grown-ups in mind – I’m lucky enough to several friends who are just as obsessed as me – why not grab a little something for the Potterhead in your life?
Some products in this guide were gifted in exchange for review
1.Light up Hogwarts Crest from Find me a Gift.com
This light up Hogwarts crest featuring the Hogwarts motto ‘Draco dormiens nunquam titillandusis‘ is the perfect addition to any Hogwarts alumni’s home. It’s easy to assemble and can be plugged into the mains via micro USB (included) or battery operated (Batteries not included) or you could simply wave your wand and shout ‘LUMOS!’
This crest would look fantastic as an addition to any room, but my personal preference would be the study or bedroom. Mine sits proudly on my bookcase along with my two Harry Potter-themed wood crates and of course, the famous books themselves.
2. Dobby is a Free Elf
It still feels like way too soon to even be talking about poor Dobby’s demise at the hands of Death Eater Bellatrix LeStrange. However, he lives in on and our hearts and our memories. And in Socks. Find ‘Dobby is Free’ socks here.
3. Make Memories with your very own Pensieve
Do you remember this news story from a couple of years ago? A man made his wife to be a homemade pensieve complete with memories of their life together so far and scrolls to create new ones. If you fancy ’10 points to Gryffindor’ from your partner but don’t want to go to quite that amount of effort then this is the perfect solution – A ready made Pensieve – just add memories.
4. Grown Up Harry Potter Watch
If you like your Harry Potter products to be a little more on the discreet side this watch is perfect – a quiet and simple nod to platform 9 3/4. Stylish without being obvious. The watch can be found here.
5. ‘Merry Christmas ya Filthy Muggle!’
It’s never too early to think about Christmas and what could be better than a Christmas jumper (or t-shirt if you would prefer) that combines both Harry Potter AND the classic Christmas movie Home Alone? I don’t think there is anything! Perfect for the office Christmas party. Find it here
6. Magical Colour Changing Chalice
Whether you fill it with it Pumpkin Juice, Butterbeer or Firewhiskey this Chalice is ideal for sipping your favourite tipple while you watch the films or read the books. Enjoy the magical colour changing when it’s filled no Colovaria charm or wand waving required!
7. Snuggle This Muggle
Many who grew up reading the Harry Potter series as they came out are now well into their twenties and thirties and have families of their own. This ‘Snuggle this Muggle’ baby-grow set is adorable and the perfect gift for any expectant Harry Potter obsessed mama. Would also be great for one of those cute newborn dress up photo shoots.
7. b. There is also this completely adorable Harry Potter Maternity T-shirt
8. ‘Happiness can be Found . . . .
Even In the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.‘ Albus Dumbledore
This is one of my absolute favourite quotes from the Harry Potter series. What I love about this particular canvas is firstly the colour – subtle greys are very in right now and match my decor perfectly, and secondly, the fact it’s not too obviously Harry Potter. Sometimes subtlety is nice and I really like how this looks any other quote you might have around your house – it works as a stand-alone piece. Find it here.
9. Bag yourself a wand
Amazon has a massive range of wands including those from many of the main characters. I’ve listed a few of my favourites below.
When we went to Universal Studios Florida last summer, we did the Ollivander Shop experience and I was chosen to go up and try the different wands – It was my favourite experience of our time at Universal Studios and although I didn’t buy the recommended wand for me (I let my brother buy an interactive wand instead!) I know how much Harry Potter fans love their wands!
There is plenty of Harry Potter inspired Jewellery out there- here are a few of my favourite pieces.
